Here in Spain, the Easter is religius. We celebrate with processions. Behind the processions are many people and bands. The throne bearers carry the throne in their shoulders and they move around all the city.
How is your Easter?

What we have learned about Easter traditions in Austria

Austrian Easter is very special because the parents and their children buy chocolate eggs and they paint them. At Easter Sunday, in the morning the parents hide the eggs and the children have to find them. If they find the eggs they get presents. The colours of Easter is purple. Churches are usually decorated with this colour.

Easter Traditions in Spain

On Palm Sunday people go to church in the morning. Boys carry a simple palm branch and girls carry a branch that has been decorated. They often have sweets, tinsel or other decoration hanging from them.
In Christian churches Ash Wednesday is the first day of the Lent. It’s called Ash Wednesday because of the ceremony of placing ash on the forehead as a sign of penitence. On Maundy Thursday there is a special celebration: they dance in skeleton costumes. Good Friday is a strict fast day. Holy Saturday is the day before Easter and the last day of the holy Week.
